Kearney Manor - Elderly Public Housing
KHA owns and manages 118 units of Elderly Public Housing, known as Kearney Manor. To live at
Kearney Manor, one must be 62 years of age, or older, or a person with disabilities. The rent, which
includes utilities, is 30 percent of the adjusted gross income.
There are two, two-bedroom units, 104 one-bedroom units, and 12 wheelchair accessible units for tenants
with disabilities. This is independent living.
The tenants are responsible for their unit and personal needs. KHA does maintenance,
lawn care and snow removal. Tenants are encouraged to plant and maintain flower gardens.
The Tenant Association plans various social activities throughout the year.

Elderly Supportive Services
It is the intent of KHA Elderly Supportive Service Program to provide an environment
that encourages a continued sense of health, well being and self-sufficiency to enable our
seniors to enjoy a higher quality of life and independence.

Congregate Meal Program:
The On-Site Meal Program is available to the residents of Kearney Manor. Monday through
Friday at noon, in the KHA Pavilion. The meal is approved and meets 1/3 daily requirement
for elderly. Residents call for reservations on the preceding day by 3:00 pm.
Home Deliveries are available for shut-ins. A suggested donation is $2.50 for those 60
years and older and $3.50 for under 60 years. Family members are encouraged to purchase
meal tickets for their favorite senior's birthday, Christmas, Mothers or Fathers Day or
"just because". Ticket purchases can be made by calling 234-3000 or coming to the KHA
office.
Foot Care Clinic:
The On-Site Foot Care Clinic is provided monthly by Good Samaritan Hospital Home
Health Program. The charge is $6.00. Reservations are made by calling 234-3000. Again,
family members may purchase "gift certificates" for their favorite senior.
Cosmetologist:
A cosmetologist comes weekly to the KHA Pavilion for use by the residents. Appointments
are made by calling. Walk-Ins are welcome too. There is a charge for this service.
Blood Pressure Clinic:
This Clinic is provided by Good Samaritan Hospital Home Health Program and is held monthly.
Computer Access:
A computer is available in the KHA Pavilion for use by the residents. THey can send and
receive email, surf the internet, make cards, write letters, etc. Computer classes are
also available.
Other Activities:
Tenant Association meets monthly on the second Monday.
Cards, Bible Study, Bingo, Crafts, Knitting and Crocheting.
